Hollywood vs Reality...
Here's some numbers regarding the numbers of American military personnel being sent to assist in Haiti after the recent terrible Earthquake there.
I wonder if they'll be blowing up and trees and forests as depicted in James Cameron's latest film, "Avatar." Maybe they just want to take straw baskets from old people or pull the wings off of butterflies?
After major disasters, The U.S. -- and it's military -- is among the first on the scene with assistance. U.S. citizens consistently offer significant help both public and private (and I'm not even including the much maligned freeing of whole populations from tyranny).
After a few months the international left will be back to their usual mantras against the United States and its people; "Imperialist war-mongering greedy capitalists"...who eat McDonald's french fries. For now, "thanks for the help" would be nice (but, don't hold your breath).
